I have exciting house updates! Exciting to me anyway...

This weekend we went from this:

Hello new kitchen cabinets! What a MAJOR change! You can see the kitchen as it was when we purchased our house in May of 2009. We made some layout changes to the kitchen (as well as the back of the house adding a .5 bath & mud room where the old porch used to be) allowing us to have 2 walls of cabinets instead of the one that the previous owners had. I'm sorry the picture is so bad, but we didn't finish till around 10 p.m. and I just HAD to have a picture to share with everyone. I'm in love (::swoon::)!!!

In other breaking news, we also finished our laundry room (except for molding) this weekend. Here's what we start with:

We had to replace the sheet rock in this room but we painted it back in a nice shade of yellow and added a door so we can close it off when we have company.

We have also finished our .5 bath (with the exception of molding) but I have yet to take any picture of it. Strange, I know! Hopefully I'll get some pictures of it added soon!

Hey everyone! I finally made it here to update you with what's going on with us. We've been working on the house and gradually marking things off the "finish the house to-do list." We have almost all of the doors hung now and have started painting them.

We have a few casings that we have to put up and paint then all the doors will be finished.

We also came across some appliances on Craigslist and got them Friday. Just in time to get the kitchen started and finished. We have our 1/2 bath completely finished (except for molding) and I told the hubs that the next room that had to be finished was the kitchen so I can start cooking some.

Hey everyone! I have some house news to share with you!

The hubs has been working on the house this week (first time since before the wedding!) and this is the picture he sent me around 9 a.m. this morning

So, while I'm happy for the progress that's being made, it kind of made me sad to see that old barn go!

On another note, we had a pretty bad storm come through last week and this is what my husband arrived at our house to see one afternoon:

The two largest trees on our property had fallen (the first one was across the road to begin with, but this was after they had pulled it back into the yard) and the other luckily fell away from the house instead of toward it.

While the hubs has been workig on the house this week, he has almost finished putting in all the doors but I haven't had time to get by there and get pictures of them yet since Bible School has kept me so busy. Hopefully I can update you Friday with some pictures!
